What can be done without sleep

This morning at 10am we had our reshoot scheduled for our original film project "Porn Buddies". I had been working on a project till really late, and then wasnt feeling well and couldnt fall asleep. So at 8am, with zero sleep, I decided it was time to just take a shower, load up on energy supplements, and head out to Rainne's apartment in Flushing, Queens.

I ended up getting maybe 30 minutes sleep during the subway ride (but it wasnt the best sleep). Poornima was running late, so Rainne hooked me up with some mint tea since I was losing my voice (and needed it for acting), and also gave me some vitamins. Between everything I took, I had a little burst of energy. So we shot the shots we wanted to redo, and the new shots we needed for the new twist in our story. The making out scene was uncomfortable in my exhausted state, so we kept it to mostly wide shots. We probably should have gotten some closeups, now that I am editing I think it would have looked better. The fantasy sequence was shot in the botanical gardens, on one of the pathways which has an adorable foot bridge over a little pond. I'm very happy with how that scene turned out!!

Now editing it together, I realize in our rush to get done since both Poornima and I were exhausted (she had only 2 hours sleep and had to be at JFK for a 5pm flight) we didn't spend as much time thinking about continuity. We really should have looked at the footage we had first, then we would have realized that two closeup shots we thought were fine, actually showed the outfit that Rainne wore in the original shoot. Problem being, her character changed slightly so she wore something different in the new version of the film. I was able to fix a few problems in editing, but those two shots present a problem. Unfortunately we might not be able to meet back up before Tuesdays class. However we decided even if we show the film with those 2 shots, we will go and reshoot them since the film looks great and we want it to be as close to perfect as possible!!

updated countdown...

I updated the countdown with more animation. I made the guy actually peddle the pedi-copter thingy, and he now flies around in the 3D environment around the countdown numbers. I also animated the RISE name in the bottle right corner.

The numbers use more of the style of the 2nd logo design, however thats about all that was carried over. I would like to continue thinking about it and maybe somehow incorporate more of the 2nd logo principles into the countdown. But for now this one looks pretty goood!

More to come...must sleep.
